Find What Resonates with You

During my solo trip to New Zealand last December, I rented a bike in Queenstown and went for a bike ride.

Upon seeing Lake Wakatipu, I decided to take a break and sat on a bench to admire its magnificent view.

As I was enjoying the lakes’ beauty, a man on his bike stopped and asked if he could talk to me.

Being receptive to meeting others, I happily said “yes.”

He then greeted me with a friendly smile as he sat down and proceeded with small talk and a short introduction.

As we conversed, he progressed to asking me some personal questions starting with “Are you a good man?

In my response, I quickly said, “Yes,” based on my definition of being a good man.

He was surprised by my prompt response and started explaining to me the difference between God and Jesus Christ and the ten amendments of being a good man.

Staying curious, I was open to hearing what he had to say despite knowing some information about this topic.

And after our conversation, I learned more about him and his passionate mission to educate others.

I appreciated his time and effort in chatting with me, although our views may be different on who we believe is the higher power.

Regardless of what information was shared, I ultimately have the final say in what I choose to accept.

It has nothing to do with wrong or right; it comes down to what works for me and being true to myself by keeping what is useful and discarding what isn’t.

Be a Student of Life

Life is a constant teacher and full of wisdom. To maximize your learning, you can adopt the beginner’s mindset. That way, you can stay curious and absorb what life offers.

After you have gathered enough knowledge, the next step is to act on it.

Because it is through doing that translates to real-world experience.

For example, if you want to get into better physical shape. Start by gathering information on the different aspects of healthy living such as nutrition, exercise, and rest. Then begin with one or all of the following:

  1. Incorporate regular movement
  2. Reduce the amount of processed food eaten
  3. Get adequate sleep

As you continue the process, you gain valuable feedback to make adjustments if needed to achieve your desired outcomes.

By applying these concepts to life, you gain the necessary wisdom to see what is possible and true for you.

In the modern age of technology and the internet, there’s an endless amount of information that is easily accessible.

Think for Yourself

With the numerous platforms that intelligence is presented, it can be difficult to filter out ones that don’t serve you.

That’s because you are the ultimate decision-maker for yourself.

Therefore, it’s imperative that you only select choices that are aligned with you.

To identify what is uniquely yours, start by challenging your current beliefs and ideas by asking yourself the following:

  • “Are my current beliefs aligned with who I am and who I want to become?”
  • “Do they make me a better person?”
  • “How are they serving me?”

By being brutally honest with yourself, you can identify the ones that do not serve you.

And by removing beliefs that don’t support you, you are left with the ones that are authentically yours.

It is through connecting with your inner self that you can create a deep sense of knowing of who you truly are.

Closing Thoughts

Throughout life, you are constantly bombarded with what you should or shouldn’t do.

And surrounded by all that clutter is your true inner voice.

To peel all the layers covering it, you must think for yourself and remove beliefs and ideas that are outdated and are hindering your growth.

Only by doing so can you identify what is truly yours.

And by trusting your inner compass among all the noise is what makes you grounded rather than a leaf in the wind easily blown from one place to another.

Despite all the distractions, you can act with integrity and do what matters most to you.

I am on a mission to help 1,000,000 people, and I can’t do that without your help. Please share this article with anyone whom you think will find it valuable and helpful. Thank you very much! I greatly appreciate it!
