Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It’s life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.”

― Steve Jobs

Train for Life

The world health crisis in 2020 reminds me of my defining moment in my early 20s.

It was a result of one year while living an imbalanced life prioritizing work over personal life. That unforgettable night as I stared at myself in the bathroom mirror, I was confronted with these questions:

  • “Why am I sacrificing my well-being for the sake of chasing money?”
  • “What’s the value of wealth if I don’t have my health to enjoy it?”
  • “What am I working so hard for?”

Those questions catalyzed my transformation into a lasting healthy lifestyle. And after transforming my body, I have put my health above everything else.

That’s because without it, nothing else matters.

Hence, health is always a priority, and I make time for it no matter how busy life may get.

Additionally, to prevent and mitigate health risks, I follow advice from qualified medical professionals.

And if I were to die while doing my best, I can accept the outcome knowing it was my time to go.

There’s nothing I could have done to avoid it. Instead, I would gladly surrender and embrace reality.

Cultivate Self-Reliance and Discipline

You are your most valuable asset.

Hence, it would be wise for you to take care of yourself by doing the following:

  • Train your body regularly with physical exercise.
  • Forge mental fortitude by continually expanding your comfort zone by challenging yourself (public speaking, talking to strangers, or learning a new skill).
  • Maintain social connection through having frequent meaningful conversations with others.

Additionally, being in great health can help with the following:

  • Slow down the inevitable aging process
  • Boost your immune system to help fight against novel diseases and viruses
  • Increase energy and vitality

This will increase the likelihood of longevity and quality of life.

On a daily basis, implement the basics by eating real food and moving your body.

And occasionally, enjoy life while making intelligent choices. This will create a balance between fun and meaningful work.

Live a Great Life

To make sound decisions, you can make smart and calculated risks by analyzing the benefits and consequences. Ask yourself:

  • “What are the positives of doing this?”
  • “What are the detriments?”
  • “Do the pros outweigh the cons?”
  • “Can I handle the worst-case scenario?”
  • “Am I willing to accept that outcome?”
  • “How can I grow from that experience?”

Write out the answers to the above questions and make a selection.

Closing Thoughts

Just like birth, death is neutral, and a necessary part of life to remove the old and make room for the new.

It’s Mother Nature’s way of keeping the world in balance.

Death occurs every day. It can vary from natural causes such as old age or intentional killing.

Everyone will face it one day.

No one can escape from it.

Life can be taken from us at any time, as most of us don’t know when our time will be up.

death, fulfillment, growth, happiness, health, life, mastery, personal development, personal growth, priority, visionTo honor the beautiful gift of life, you can treasure it by doing things that truly matter and spending time with people who are most important to you.

Create a vision for yourself by imagining your funeral. Ask yourself:

  • “What would I want people to say about me?”
  • “Would I have died empty of regrets?”
  • “If I had a second chance, how would I have lived differently?”

Reverse engineer your life by starting with the end in mind.

Realize this:

Life is a journey, and it will one day end.

Make it count by having fun, forging lasting connections, and creating unforgettable memories.
